Cannon Powershot 620

I bought one from new £256, and have just purchased another through Ebay for a friend of mine. Its a camera that competes with the best of them and at times I prefer it to my Canon 40D. The results are excellent, outdoor, indoor without flash or for panoramas. Its not light but with a Samsonite Trekking Premium DF10 Camera Case attached to my belt its always handy for use. As with most cameras, because it is so versatile, it has round knob on the top to select the type of photo you wish to take, I used a small blob of Blue-tack to stop it turning as I took it from and returned it to its case, this enabled me to keep it in 'P' program setting which I use for most of my outdoor pictures. It also has a very versatile screen which can be rotated to almost any angle and can even be turned from its normally protected (closed) mode to face towards you for use, like most of the more modern cameras. It has the traditional viewfinder for use when most compact camera screens are useless because of bright sunlight. When you use the zoom control the picture through the viewfinder or screen zoom too - don't buy a compact camera that doesn't. I would recommend this camera to anyone.

Really good for cutting green wood. I cut through a trunk 200mm diameter without any problem.
