Serial killer
I shipped this product to my new home in Spain to deal with an area of uncultivated scrubland. A wild mix of spiky plants with waxy leaves; holly bush, vines and Oleander (the roots of which had got into the sewer pipe). Everything was despatched effectively with Roundup Pro Vantage. Larger shrubs were chainsawed and then the stump painted neat. The lower ground cover was sprayed using a diluted mix from a back pack.
A few weeks later it was clear that most had died at first treatment and the more tenacious were given a second dose to be sure.

Excellent
Manufactured so the plugs are a snug fit in your appropriately drilled holes, needing a tap home. Head of plug guides in the screw and plug expands in four directions. End result is the best possible fix that also endures as its nylon. Difficult to locate this product outside of Europe, but it can be done.

Mind which one you buy.
I mounted the lock by bolting it's back plate direct to the steel gate. I would have preferred to weld a 'roof plate' to the gate and then screw the complete lock onto the roof plate. This would have been more secure and ease removal/ replacement of the lock if required. The roof plate also weatherproofs the lock due to its little, err, 'roof', that sits over its top edge. I found it impossible to source the roof plate separately. I later noticed I could have in fact bought the lock bundled complete with a roof plate for a few Euros more.
Study the pictures in the adverts to spot those which include this roof plate!
I hid the wires by stringing them through the box section gate. Wiring it into the gates control box was simple. No programming required. It just seems to synchronise with the gates opening/closing.
The lock makes a reassuring 'thunk' when it closes and buzzes for a second when you press your remote to open.
I have twin leaf gates with hydraulic rams which, with concerted bodily pressure, could have been forced open sufficiently to slip through. This lock pins the gates closed at their base.
