RAZER Orochi 2013 6.400 dpi Elite Bluetooth Gaming Mouse
11 May, 2016
Promising - but major shortcomings on Mac
I heard so much good stuff about this mouse, and I really wanted to like it, but in all probability - I'll be selling it. In theory it should be great, very accurate/responsive for gaming (I use it for 3D design work, far less demanding) portable, lightweight, 7 programmable buttons, and Bluetooth. I could liberate my 2nd USB port on my Mac! It works without the Razer drivers, and it's okay. It works with a number of other 3rd party mouse drivers. The fundamental problem is that the cursor skips while in wireless mode. This in effect makes the mouse almost unusable under Bluetooth. So on the Mac, you either accept the behaviour or use the cable. No exactly what anyone would expect. The second problem is that the power-saving mode is a bit too enthusiastic and turns the mouse off after a fairly short time. The auto-reconnect works fine, but there is a delay. These issues are documented on the web, but I should have researched more carefully before I bought it. It's not a mouse for Mac users. If the issues were fixed (they won't be) it would be great, and on the PC I guess it's fine. Mac users stay away - this is too frustrating. The Logitech MX Anywhere mouse is much better. It's not Bluetooth, but it does almost everything else better.
beautiful 3mm Stainless Steel 2nd and 3rd Generation Nest Thermostat Stand

So much better than the Nest base
This is a fabulous item, it's nicely weighted so that the thermostat doesn't move when you use the dial or press the screen. It's great quality - thick stainless steel, the holes are perfect for mounting, and the angle is just right to allow Farsight to work as it ought. It's an excellent and well-designed little product that's functional, elegant and cheaper than the manufacturer's equivalent. It's better in every way. It was a bargain!
Panasonic TX-40CX400B 40Inch 4K Ultra HD FreeviewHD Smart TV

Cheap - but is it worth the money?
The screen is good. It's not a 'proper' Panasonic TV, it's built by a Turkish company and licensed to Panasonic. It's another TV you wouldn't normally look at, with a Viera sticker on it. Panasonic are a good make, but not all their TVs are good. It's not a full 4K TV either. By that I mean the things you can actually watch on 4K are limited, even within the scope of what is available on other TVs. The software is poor, the smart functions are poor, it doesn't switch to the AV input when it's turned on, the picture is insipid until tweaked. It's a decent 'second' TV at best. As a primary TV however, get something else. I wish I had spent more money and bought an LG or a Samsung or a Sony.
