Not good for bolt heads above 9mm but probably works well for smaller bolts & studs.
I would recommend for stud removal & smaller bolt heads but not for bolt heads above 9mm or so.
The device is essentially a drill chuck on steroids. Like a drill chuck, the jaws retreat up into the silver shroud once you open up for a bolt head of 9mm or more which prevents you getting the jaws around the bolt head.
This simply couldn't grip the 12mm bolt head I needed it to. Were the bolt not screwed home, but protruding above the surrounding material by about 10mm I would have had a chance. As it was tightened against the surface of the material, the jaws closed above the head of the bolt and simply pushed the head of the bolt out of the tool without gripping it. Frustrating!
In the end, I resorted to using the "hammer on" bolt extractors which worked a treat. I'm feel sure this would work with studs. In my case, simply back-to-backing 2 nuts was sufficient to lock against the studs I needed to remove so this tool remains in my toolbox unused.

Great tool with many uses.

a) Checking diesel turbo actuator moved smoothly.
b) Checking vacuum
c) priming diesel pipework.
Not used for bleeding brakes yet - think I may need to use with larger vessel. Very, very please with it.
