Older Hp Laptops have expanding battery issue
10 of 12 found this helpful Be very careful purchasing used hp laptops because the battery can expand destroying the laptop with no warning. The laptop I purchased had the original hp battery and it expanded so much that it cracked the touch pad. Hp acknowledges the issue and claims it’s not a hazard and will not replace damaged laptop or battery if out of warranty. Please be careful purchasing used HP laptops. Lithium batteries can be very dangerous if they expand.
