Canon EF-S 10-18 mm F/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens

Excellent value for money ultr-wide lens

Not the fastest lens but ideal for landscape and tripod work. Has a plastic mounting point, but seems pretty durable. I use of an cropped sensor mirrorless camera and the field of view is huge! Great for ultra-wide shot and interesting close-ups. Image stabilisation is great, especially in combination with internal digital stabilisation.

Good device; but you'll need to upgrade the DC adaptor for power-hungry devices.

A warning to some people who are planning on running multiple power-hungry devices (e.g. Raspberry Pi, external HDD) the power adaptor that comes with this has a max of 0.5 amps which isn't enough for my devices. I've had to order another DC power supply that can provide up to 2.0 amps. Other than that, the build quality is fine for the price and it works. The individual power switches is a nice touch.

Lacks the premium quality but is cheap and effective

An inexpensive lens hood that does the job. It doesn't feature a locking button so it twists on but lacks the reliable "click" you get with first-party Canon lens hoods. Still, it has a snug fit so it shouldn't fall off during normal use.
