Best deal on today's market for a small, sweet tube amp.
4 of 4 found this helpful Sweet sound, definitely gets better with some playing time, certainly benefits from a compressor/sustainer. In keeping with the budget ethos, a Behringer compressor is terrific. Easy speaker swap, but all the videos I've seen haven't convinced me the Celestion is lacking in any way. That's what your guitar's tone control is for.
I've mostly played clean, it's plenty strong at 1 watt, so I can't say much about crunch. I will say a decade ago I owned both the small Vox and Fender 1W/5W amps that were out at the time, and I think this sounds much nicer at a great price.
Tube amps with no effects are a different beast from solid state, and beginning guitarists might be put off by what seems like a boring, plain sound. Check out a few vids on how to wrangle tones from a tube amp, get a couple cheap fun pedals, and I guarantee you'll never look back.

The price improves the sound.
2 of 2 found this helpful If you watch the you tube videos, the Ibanez originals sound better in side-by-side tests. In my variety of guitars and amps, LPs, Strats, archtops, acoustics, through tube and solid state, this box sounds great and really performs. The Ts9 setting is a little brighter, the Ts808 setting a little smoother and cooler, I like them both depending what I'm trying to do. The drive knob allows a lot of headroom for more or less gain. And it sounds great in front of a good fuzz box.
All totaled, for 25 bucks, the sound is more than good enough for me. If you got the hundred-plus for an Ibanez, spend the money. If you don't, buy this. You will be happy either way.

Best detail diecast 1/25 I've seen:
Amazing detail. Tiny stickers on parts, opening hood, trunk, and doors, dashboard detail, an antennae which is perfect, nice undercarriage, detailed engine and compartment. . . solid. Heavy. My only demerit would be for the front wheels not turning very far in either direction, otherwise, an excellent model. I will be looking at some more First Gears to see how they compare.
