Does what it says on the tin.
I tried fitting a new head unit to my Mark 8 Type R, long story short, don’t bother. This little box is much less hassle, it plugs into the back of your original CD player, and by drilling a small hole in the back of the cubby hole above the gear stick, you have an AUX cord available to use. Simple and effective.
