ABSOLUTELY SLAMMING SUB WITH BLUE TOOTH CONNECT
1 of 1 found this helpful I absolutely love this sub!!! It is really a professional concert sub but I am using it for my home theater subwoofer. Please note that this sub has XLR only inputs but I bought a balance RCA to XLR converter and it works perfectly! I really like that you can download the JBL Eos app and control the subwoofer setup, crossover, eq, and balance from your phone!!! You can't imagine how cool it is to be able to adjust your subwoofer on the fly without getting up out of your seat in a darkened room and trying to go locate the controls on the back of a subwoofer box - this is just too cool! As far as sound, this thing is an absolute MONSTER!!! I would give it 10 stars out of 5 if I could. I had an older 12 inch JBL home theater sub which was pretty good, but it just does not compare to the power and clarity and impact that this sub can generate. Most subs, even good subs can sound pretty distorted in bass heavy movie scenes with explosions and earthquakes, etc, but this one almost sounds "relaxed" for lack of a better word. Don't get me wrong, this thing will shake things off walls in other rooms but it is just so effortless, it never sounds winded or maxed out and I listen at crazy THX levels. In fact, my two main front speakers are Definitive Technology BP8080ST's and they both have their own powered 12" sub and two 12" radiators each, but I was looking for that absolute punch in the chest and even those great powers could not provide it. This sub is freakin' awesome in that regard! And for the price I paid it is an absolute steal compared to some smaller esoteric home theater subs. One thing to be absolutely aware of if you are going to use this in your home theater - it is absolutely HUGE! It is roughly, 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet, or 8 cubic feet! I basically had to swap out a coffee table and use this in its place. I can actually put a light and other things directly on top of it because the cabinet is fairly inert. I am going to buy a piece of granite and put on top of it with some rubber isolating feet, but other than that, there are very few places this thing can sit in a house without taking up some major real estate. So far I have watched San Andreas, James Bond Spectre, and Deadpool on this thing and it absolutely will take your home theater experience to new levels. It is just so clean, even at ridiculously high levels. It never got hot or shut down or went into panic mode through any of these movies and believe me I was playing them very, very loud! Even though I am not using it for its intended purpose, I could not be happier with my decision to go with this sub. If you are thinking about buying a high-end home theater sub and you have the space, this thing absolutely kills it in every regard.
