About

I try never to bid on anything unless I have the money ready to pay for it. I sometimes misjudge how much is in my paypal account, so if I'm late making a payment it means I'm waiting for the money to transfer. Sorry I am often late leaving feedback.

Poor Richard's Almanack
Benjamin Franklin has always been one of my favorite figures in American history, and his wisdom and humor remain fresh in his book "Poor Richard's Almanack." This book is a collection of little idioms and quotes directly from Ben Franklin, written by his own hand. I love this book, but I must admit that because it was written over a hundred years ago, many of the idioms went way over my head because of the way they're worded. Still, this doesn't detract from the charm of the book, and for history buffs this book is gold.

Godzilla vs. King Ghidora/Godzilla & Mothra
Boy, you can't go wrong with this double-feature. Godzilla's most popular villain AND his most popular ally return, updated and awesome. In Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, a group of people from the distant future (the 'futurians') come to the present promising to repair a dismal future for Japan by eliminating Godzilla from history before he was created. However, their TRUE intentions are to destroy a PROSPEROUS future by replacing Godzilla with King Ghidorah! Even so, Godzilla still comes back even stronger than before, and the two monsters have what is probably the most spectacular battle in the entire franchise. In addition, they also introduce Mecha King Ghidorah, which is reason enough to buy this DVD all by itself! Mothra fans unite for Godzilla and Mothra: Battle for Earth! Often referred to as "Godzilla vs. Mothra," this movie bears only moderate resemlbance to the 1961 film in which Godzilla and Mothra first meet. A meteor awakens Godzilla and a giant caterpillar named Battra, both of which are bent on destroying human society. Luckily we have Mothra to come save the day. In this particular movie, Mothra and Battra are two forces of nature created to protect Earth, one being good and the other being evil (or more accurately "less good"). Godzilla looks great in this one, and so does Mothra. The twin faeries are in this one as well, calling themselves the Earth's Cosmos, and they're well done (although one is slightly taller than the other, which kind of bugs me for some reason). Anyway, in case you're one of those people whose attitude is "What's a butterfly going to do against Godzilla?" Mothra has a HUGE array of firepower in this one, shooting lightning all over the friggin' place. It's a great movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Star Fox
The year was 1993, and the world had seen very little 3D computer graphics, let alone play with them in a video game. Then along comes StarFox, and egad it was awesome. Utilizing the new FX chip (whatever that does) this game unleashed polygonny goodness upon the kids of the 90's for the first time ever. You play as Fox McCloud, leader of a team of anthropomorphic animal fighter pilots called StarFox. Your ship flies along a set track, although you have some maneuverability besides that--think of the starship levels of Lego Star Wars, except with SNES graphics. You have several wingmen: Slippy the frog, Peppy the rabbit, and Falco the bird ... thing. They don't really do anything, but you're given the choice to help them when they're in trouble every so often. They also provide idle radio chatter to give life to the game. StarFox has several pathways containing different levels, but I haven't figured out how it decides which path you take. Basically there are third-person shooting levels where you can see your ship, and there are first-person shooting levels where you see everything through your cockpit. The levels range from flying near the ground and avoiding buildings to asteroid fields, to inside space stations and capital starships. The grapics aren't that good compared to games of the present, and the frame rate is a little shoddy, but MAN. They went out of their way to make sure the game with the new technology was also fun to play. (And my man Shigeru Miyamoto worked on it, so you KNOW it's got to be awesome.) If you've never played, seen, or heard of this game, you've seriously got some issues. The end boss is one of the defining icons of the Super Nintendo, and the whole game is fun to just pick up and play for however long you've got. Supposedly Starfox 64 is even better, but after that one the series went totally downhill. Stick with the first couple games.
