Is the extra cost justified?
Expensive batteries. They seem to provide a service similar to the regular Alkaline batteries. The only advantage I see is increased shelf life. But I am not an expert so my opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt.

Very easy to install over an older existing version.

I installed over an existing Office 2007 version and it did it all automatically, including importing all of the Outlook settings, address book, messages and files from it - even the color theme. Same for the other programs (Word, Excel, Publisher...) I was expecting to have to do a lot of this manually, and to spend much more time.
However, I had to go online and download the Service Packs to update it. (Maybe it would have done it automatically, I don't know)

This is the 3rd time in 7 years that this product had to be replaced on the truck cap due to severe oxidation that renders it useless after a while (the keys will not fit in the slots any more and the inside parts rust a lot. Corrosion also makes removal for servicing impossible without destroying the items.)
It seems the new one has improved a bit by removing the fast rusting external fasteners and providing 2 rubber sleeves to cover the handles. However these sleeves are not only quite ugly, but also so easy to steal that I am hesitating to even use them.
