Got Lucky 2.2GHz Dou-Core CPU Under $25.00
0 of 1 found this helpful You have to Love it. It's just like getting "Free Money". I was in the process of building a "Low Budget" Media recording and presentation PC.
I decided on the CPU (AMD Sempron 140 2.7 GHz Processor SDX140HBGQBOX)coupled with a Gigabyte (MA-78LM-S2H) mother board.
Flash the Bios on the motherboard and Viola, un-locked second core. This only works the SB710 and newer AMD chipsets. The SB710 Chipset seems to be the key in unlocking second core or even the forth core on certain CPUs.
Build is complete. Final specs. Below:
AMD Sempron 140 2.7 GHz Processor (locked Second core running a 2.2GHz has stably over-clocked to the 2.7GHz running Prime95 for 6 hours with out errors ($24.35 Ebay)
Gigabyte (MA-78LM-S2H) motherboard ($40.00 Ebay)
Patriot Viper DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 2x2048MB ($70.00 Ebay)
XFX HD5670 ($95.00 Ebay)
PCI-e USB 3.0 card ($29.00 Ebay)
HP Atsc/NTSC pci tuner ((2) 58.00 Ebay)
Hitachi 160GB 7200RPM 16MB 2.5" Drive-2 Stoked and in RAID0 ($60.00 Ebay)
Seagate Enterprise HD 250Gb Storage Drive ($45.00)
BFG 550watt Power Modular supply ($52.00 Ebay)
8GB Cruiser Flash Drive USB 3.0- Page file resides on this Drive ($15.75 Eday)
Blu-ray Drive ($58.00 Ebay)
3.5" Media card reader and USB Port ($9.00 Ebay)
Thermaltake Lan-Box Lite Case ($40.00 Ebay)
Bluetooth USB 2.0 EDR Dongle ($.99 Ebay)
Dell WL6000 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System ($85.00 Ebay)
Rocketfish Blue-tooth Keyboard and Mouse ($19.00 Ebay)
HP Media Center remote with IR Receiver ($19.00 Ebay)
I am very happy with the build, what started off as just a low budget build to record TV has turned into my main Media PC.
I also have noticed a $20.00-$25.00 reduction in my Electric bill compared to the other Media PC this replaced. This stays on 24/7 365 so it was easy to spot the difference.
I use to be strictly and Intel person, AMD has gotten my attention Lots of Bang for you buck! To compare it to building a High performance auto engine Very High horse power to weight ratio addition.
Great base for any low budget PC build and helps you to stay "Green" too!

Great Value and a Great Product
Great charger, smart charge tech is top notch, even revived an Asus Memo 7 that would not charge. Took several days, but worked well enough to remove personal files

Kenda K838 Slick Wire Bead Bicycle Tire
I just want to state that this tire and tread design work incredibly well for my cycling needs. My travels are primarily over asphalt and concrete. I have found that the traction and over-all stability of the tire's tread design is exceptional. I live in a desert area of the US and rapid tire wear has always been an issue for me. I have 2 different tires types and tread designs currently installed on by bike right now that wear installed on the very same day. The K838 still has the molded rubber teets still visible on the tire where the other tire is already showing signs of wear only after approx. 50 miles of riding, Wow! We are just finishing up our monsoon or rainy season here and the wet weather traction is something that I would rate as exceptional. This area doesn't get a lot of rain but when it does the streets become very, very slick. This tire almost seems to get even better under the wet and slick conditions.
The paths that I ride this time of the year are usually dotted with dry washout areas of sand and decomposed granite, I have this tire mounted on my front wheel and it just seems to track right through the washouts steady as a rock, where as my rear tire with a lot more aggressive tread design actually starts the bike to do what is called fish-tailing. I plan on purchasing another and just keeping the more aggressive tire as a spare. Did I mention "quite" the tread design very, very quite, absolutely no tire whine at all compared to the more aggressive tire on the back. A pair of these on any ones bike would be a wise choice if tires are ready to be replaced, Excellent ride, handling, and no-noise make this tire a GREAT choice for replacement tire.
