Good for the $$$

Positives ; Has (2) lens covers, Large Object lens, Focus is smooth and stable (stays put) & has a focus "ring" - not a knob making it slimmer & more pocket friendly. W/F proof is a +. Negatives ; Seems a bit dark for having a 40mm Objective lens ( though i have yet to try it in low light). Depth of Field is very shallow, making it fussy to get the sharpest focus. In General ; It will serve "my" purpose.I did Not buy this as a regular carry optic. I was sold on the larger object lens & spent the xtra for the W/F proof though this was probably not necessary. Hind Sight ; for "my" use, would have done just as well and saved $$ by buying the even more pocket friendly Tasco Monocular. Tasco has a "cheap" reputation, but i'm of the opinion that Tasco makes the Best optics in the "very" affordable category. But for an Xtra $20, the Barska is 10 x 40 - Tasco 10 x 25. Barska W/F proof and probably a bit more durable.
