Nice model but has flaws
Good looking, beautifully finished vehicle. However I was disappointed on several points. The prototype vans were fitted but no air lines are provided, the couplings are fixed to the bogies and without NEM pockets which makes changing them to any other type difficult and the foot boards which are provided can only be glued in place on the bogies rather than slotted in place without the risk of leaving unsightly glue marks.

Useful Addition to the Fleet
As new locomotive at a slightly reduced price. Smooth, quiet and strong runner with working and well designed directional lights.
A perfect match for my Mk1 coaches on a local passenger train.

Not for the beginner
Like several Parkside kits I've built the Trestle Wagon kit is 15% construction and 85% preparation. Great care is required to remove flash and ejector pins and every step should be given a dry run first before cementing the plastic parts together or in place because i found that nothing went together properly straight out of the box. A good pair of tweezers and a medium flat and round file are essential for this kit.
The instructions could be clearer regarding the way the chains are secured and fitted to the trestle and I had to replace 4 small items off the otherwise very good brass etch as they didn't seem suitable for the purpose for which they were intended.
So I would recommend it with some reservations, take your time and you'll have a good looking and very useful wagon for the layout, rush it and it'll finish up in the 'finish it sometime' box.
