Consider the other Digoo models - eg TH8868
This TH8888 Pro is a replacement for the TH8868 which stopped working off batteries after fair service. It still works off the mains but I have it in the bedroom and do not want the light on at night.
I liked the idea of max / min readings on this model which was the main reason for changing.
The contrast of the figures against the background is poor and the casing seems of inferior standard. The weather forecast screen is useless as it has never shown other than cloudy even where there is a deluge outside. The rest work ok.
There is no sunrise / sunset reading on this model.
Overall, I think I prefer the TH8868.

Why by just the hinges?
The price is amazing.

Sufficient weight and good value.
Very good finish, design and easy to assemble. The post is heavy duty plastic and should not rust if left out in the rain, which is something I have read about metal ones. I have though made a cap for it as the bolt holding it in is steel and will probably rust if left in a pool of water.
The weight is sufficient to anchor the parasol in a breeze.
The screw mechanism to hold the pole has a plastic 'foot' the shape of the pole and is not just a screw-head biting into the pole.
