AC/DC 7.5V DC AND 1500 MA. ADAPTOR UK PLUG POWER SUPPLY

Good for what it does
As other reviewers have written, this is an unregulated power supply. This is typical of similar transformer based plug top supplies rather than smaller switched-mode supplies which tend to be regulated. This power supply is fine for most applications, as the unit it plugs into (eg computer accessory, battery charger etc.) will have voltage regulators if needed. I measured the output voltage for different loads as follows: 11.4V @ 0mA (no load) 10.1V @ 300mA 9.5V @ 600mA 9.0V @ 900mA 8.8V @ 1000mA 8.4V @ 1300mA 8.0V @ 1500mA Note the output voltage also depends on the mains voltage, which varies slightly. I increased the load to 2500mA for a short period with no problems, I don't know what fuses are built in (if any) as the unit is welded together rather than screwed. I expect the power supply will last for years if keep within 1500mA load, there is very little to go wrong unlike switched mode plug top supplies which tend to fail. So I would recommend this power supply for the price I paid.
