Problems with mine, so I don't recommend it.

I bought my Sony Reader PRS-505 new just over one year ago. I opened an account with WH Smith and downloaded a book. When I later dowloaded another and couldn't remember my password, the book wouldn't display on the reader, even though I paid for it. Since then I have used it very rarely, and now the battery won't hold a charge for longer than a few minutes. Unfortunately it's out of warranty. Seemed like a good idea when I bought it, but I'm back reading real books again now.

There are better interpretations and recordings than this.

I have Menuhin playing and directing the Bach Concertos and the Suite in D which is superb in every way, and by comparison I was disappointed with these performances. The version on Naxos is far superior both in sound quality and offers more lively tempi.

Sony MDR-NC40 Headphones

I bought this item because I trusted the Sony brand to deliver a good product, and it appears similar to the Bose 'on-ear' noise canceling headphones. However, there seems to be very little difference between using these headphones with the noise canceling on or off. It certainly doesn't compare in any way to the similar looking Bose on-ear headphones where the outside noise disappears almost completely when the noise canceling is switched on. I also own the Bose noise canceling headphones - but the 'over-the-ears' ones, which are excellent, but just too awkward to carry around. These Sony ones just don't come anywhere close to the same noise canceling level, although the quality of sound they produce across the range is good. I don't recommend them at all.
