Takom 1/35 Chieftain Review
Positives: Very nice instructions and painting guide. Beautiful box art. Model is very detailed and better in every way from the old Tamiya kit. Decals are awesome. The barrel is two piece but with glue and patience you can not see the seam, best two piece barrel I have seen. The kit has large sprue gates and tabs, but I have not had any problems with parts breaking when removed.
Negatives: Pay attention to instructions, they jump around. Kit is over engineered and you will see what I mean when you get to the wheel assemblies, but not as bad as their other kits. The tracks are over engineered and may be difficult to paint and assemble. I wish some of the stowage boxes could be posed open. No crew figures (some Iranians would have been an awesome addition).
Conclusion: I am very happy with the kit and glad they made the Iranian version for the Iran/Iraq war. Only thing you may need to add to the kit is a set of tracks, now where are those figures?
