Styx at their best
As an Australian, I never got to hear Styx much on radio until the late 70's when they had a hit with 'Babe' (not one of my favorites). They never received much airplay here at any time. When I first heard 'Fooling Yourself' as a film clip on TV I was a commited fan. I was also a huge Queen fan at the time. They were the only band that I thought could match Queen with the combination of heavy guitar, sensational vocals and, something different, loud heavy keyboards. This is one of the last concerts that they performed with all possible main members still in the line up. I believe they were one of the best bands in the world at their top. This DVD highlights all their best hits and they are all performed magnificently. Vocally they were just brilliant and with Dennis DeYoungs awesome keyboards, Tommy Shaw & James Youngs massive guitar work, Chuck Panozzo & Todd Sucherman unbelievable on bass & drums, it is just a brilliant concert. As it is, for what I like in music, probably the best Live DVD that I've ever purchased.

While I was growing up in Australia in the 70’s, there were 3 bands that I strove to get every record release that I could get my hands on. Those bands were Queen, Yes & Styx. This album has kind of got a bit of them all in it. While it is most definitely a earlier style Styx album, you can hear influences from a lot of bands from that era. Even Pink Floyd.
It’s the first new album for years that I can’t stop playing. The most 70’s thing about it is that you want to play the whole album at one time. In Order!
My kids always play their music in shuffle mode. I struggle to do that & I certainly cannot do it with this album. The tracks hook me in from start to finish.
Styx has always been a tremendous band. Their playing & vocals have just got better over the years. They may have parted ways with Dennis DeYoungs vocals & keyboards some years back but his replacement, Lawrence Gowan is just sensational.
If you were into good album music from the 60’s & 70’s, give it a listen (or 2). I doubt that you will be disappointed.
I maybe getting old but I could sure handle another album this good before I’m gone.
The only problem may be is that it won’t appeal to the masses now. It’s 2017 not 1975.
I for one, don’t care! Gimme More!

Look Good
I bought a set of these for my wife's I30. Installation for all 4 was completed in about 20 minutes. Very simple indeed. Just make sure you have a 'straight eye' for installation. Personally, I think they look great. Just not convinced they are a good weathershield. We have had no rain for months so a convincing test hasn't been available. Time will tell!
