50 percent of the time, the lens does no...

50 percent of the time, the lens does not work, and I need to restart the camera. When it doesn’t work, it makes a very loud wining noise as if it is constantly focusing. I have to then turn off the camera to have it start working again. I don’t use it anymore because of fear it will ruin my camera.
