cheap waterproofing.
I bought to water proof some work boots, gave it a couple of coats then a third after wearing for a few days, worked well.

Carplan Tetroseal WaxOyl
2 of 2 found this helpful I usually use finnigans (Hammerite) Waxoyl but spotted a few people online saying Tetroseal was better. I won't know for sure until it's been though a winter but it does seem to adhere to the car better than Finnigans.
Not related to Tetroseal but a worthwhile tip, after wire brushing down I used Vactan (aqua steel is similar) which stabilises the existing rust, I think it's similar to more expensive underseal kits that use multiple products.
I also bought an application gun from ebay, a plastic Kennedy one that needs a compressor, I've previously used Finnigans hand pump one but the Kennedy one was easier to use, although it's not that well made it's worth it for a one off application, currently available for about £17 or £18. I had to secure the mist nozzle on the cavity lance by drilling a small hole through the plastic tube and nozzle and pushing some copper wire through to lock nozzle to tube.

Great little monitor.
Considering the cost this is a great little monitor. Even the folding mechanism work great. If you've got an older car or are not a car snob then I'd consider using this in combination with a reversing camera as a cheap DIY safety enhancement to your car..
