Excellent entry-level 5.1 receiver
Onkyo's handling of audio output power easily gives you the most for boom for your dollar. This little 65-watt receiver has far more audio power & presence than any 110w receiver I've previously owned. The remote control is nicely laid out, although slightly underpowered. (You can't bounce its output around the room- you need line-of-sight for it to work reliably). Unfortunate, but only a minor observation. The unit runs cool to slightly warm. I like that it automatically detects Dolby Digital signal & switches itself appropriately. The amp isn't dead-silent: If you turn it up to MAX with no input, you will hear a slight bit of white noise (at least I can on my used unit), but I cannot imagine anyone would ever be using the unit at anywhere near that level. This may be due to the unit's age. The unit it replaced (a 12-year old Onkyo, naturally) was dead-silent when new, but in it's later years, it, too, had a slight bit of hiss at MAX. The unit has clips for speaker connections. Keep this in mind if your speaker wires are #14 or larger. All-in-all, a nice little receiver that will get your home theater system up to 5.1 for under $100.

Not too flashy + sturdy enough to protect my phone = good choice
Great value. Despite being classified as 'used', it appears to be new-old-stock. The raised front should help protect against screen damage. Overall, it feels as though it will provide good protection all-around.
