GREAT recordings!
Bill Withers is a music must have for any collection! Soulful, funky and simply GOOD! This cd is always in my players ... LOVE it!

It's a good CD
Bertie Higgins was on the chart with a moderate hit, Just Another Day In Paradise. It's a good song as are most of the songs on the CD, BUT .... it isn't something I will listen to often.

Fascinating
A fascinating subculture to main line Christianity is one of the serpent handlers. This book, although from 1976 is a learning experience in faith, and how a small group of people flourished in the mountains and hills of Appalachia, reaching into the larger cities of Ohio. While I certainly do not agree with the beliefs these people hold to, it is a highly interesting and personal read as told from authors who apparently became friends. The serpent handlers are alomst gone in modern times, but their story is definitely one to remember.
