Buy cheap; get rubbish
I bought these because I needed a range of sizes to possibly adjust the tension when knitting a jumper, and the cost was about the same as one size of the leading brand. The bamboo part was good; smooth but not too slippery. For the first few hours I was very pleased with the ease it slid on the plastic connectors, but then came a calamity; the plastic broke at the junction with the bamboo. I didn't immediately notice this as it was on the right-hand needle and ended up dropping several stitches. So I had to pull it back several 264 stitch rows to get back to a plain row in the Fair isle pattern to pick them up again.
More expensive brands of this product have solid plastic connectors, and these last for years before breaking. The hollow plastic in these cheaper ones is much more liable to snap. Maybe with fewer stitches and a plain pattern they would last longer.

Better than the original
Used this to replace the original broken brackets on our 40 year old conservatory. Much stronger and yet just as flexible. A bit fiddly especially for the longest gutter sections; a 2 person job. Already tested by the recent high winds; I will wait and see what happens next time there is heavy snow.
