The Best Edition of Shogun
A superb 1980 series & so superior to the new remake. Filmed in Japan with Richard Chamberlain as the central character this is the ultimate edition. The kimonos, men's costumes & scenery are all perfectly done. I often question why they bother doing remakes.

1950's Britain - a touch of Social realism of the times
Not a documentary, but the film depicts work life in a cotton/fabric mill in the 1950's, the huge exodus of holiday makers heading for Blackpool for their holidays & the packed ballrooms of the day. All set against the sexual social morals of those times - now very outdated. A great insight into post war life in Britain. An important social document showing a Britain of a different era.
The social classes are well illustrated with the mill owners wife wishing for her son to marry a girl of a higher social standing than a common mill working girl.
The film works on a number of levels. Well worth viewing & thoroughly engaging.
