A good Christmas gift
A Christmas gift for my wife who is delighted with it.

A useful lightweight accessory
This lens hood is lightweight and has a clever and functional design . Once screwed onto the camera lens, it can be rotated through 360 degrees to enable the sun to be shaded from the desired direction and the different sized 'petals' allow different areas of shade to be obtained.
A useful accessory to produce better photos when the sun shines from inconvenient angles/ direction.

Replacement model locomotive motor performance a little disappointing
The motor was bought as a direct replacement for one damaged in use due to a wire joint breakage when the model locomotive was running at speed pulling a reasonable load.
The new motor was an easy direct fit into the model locomotive, but it doesn't seem as powerful as the original was. It was sealed in original Hornby packaging , but no indication of date of manufacture..
It 'works' , but the model does not perform as well as previously, so I'm a little disappointed and would hesitate to recommend, though I'll stick with it and hope for improvement with use.
