Best “58” clone ever
This mic sounds great. It feels great. It looks great. It is the best Shure 58 clone I’ve ever used.
There are a lot of other 58 style clones out there, and I’m sure for most uses those other lesser clones are fine, but this clone really captures what is good about the original Shure model. When you hold the microphone, you can feel how heavy and substantial it is. This is usually where most lesser clones get it wrong first. You need plenty of mass in the body of the microphone to reduce sympathetic ringing at annoying frequencies. This is especially important in indoor spaces for live sound, but also critical for high SPL outdoor sound reinforcement scenarios. Mics that resist sympathetic ring reduce feedback in the PA.
The sound of the Shure SM58LC is legendary. We are all very used to the sound of that mic. This is the second way most lesser clones fail. Cheap Chinese capsules usually have overly-hyped up treble/high/sibilant frequencies. While at first people think they’re clearer and more articulate, when you try to EQ the signal to sound better, you find that the hyped up highs are actually impossible to fix. This is because the hype comes from phase problems stemming from poor design of the capsule itself. The Superlux is very well designed and doesn’t suffer from phase problems like the lesser clones.
Finally, the look of this clone is spot-on! The finish is just like the Shure mic. The ball end is a 1:1 copy of the Shure, making it easily replaceable as the years go by.
This mic is a great buy. I picked up 4 of them after hearing it once. I recommend them for anyone looking for a more economical alternative to the Shure SM58

Good option for budget preamp
Noisy and a little colored. but it does what it’s supposed to do. It’s a great price. You do have to wait a while for it to some from China (3 weeks), but if you can stand to wait, you can save a lot of money going with this inexpensive alternative.

Hefty, Shure 58 style microphone. Fantastic value!
This mic is a very good clone of the venerated Shure SM58LC. The capsule is tuned for a response nearly identical to the original Shure. The mic is bright, but not shrill. It’s rich, but not boomy. The mids come through cleanly with excellent space and articulation, just like the Shure, but at less than half the price. I bought two.
