Tokai Mary Kaye model
Not sure of the origin of this gorgeous guitar but my guess is it’s from one of the premium Chinese facilities which seem to be improving in quality manufacturing fairly constantly.
This one is your typical sss type in a lovely translucent blonde finish and gold hardware. The strings are 10s I think and the action a little high out of the box.
However there are Allen keys in the package for adjusting truss rod and bridge height. I took all the bridge screws down a turn and I now find it comfortable and quick to play to my satisfaction, without any buzz or snag.
The neck is equally gorgeous with maple fingerboard nicely finished with a hint of relief from the factory truss rod setting. Overall the guitar is a quality instrument of the highest order.
Sound wise my favourite pickup positions bridge and middle together give a strong phasey Knopfler type vibe while the neck pickup has a nice bold sound which can be tamed with the volume and tone controls if required for a more mellow mood.
All in all this is a real quality instrument for a very reasonable outlay. You could easily pay a lot more for big brand names and not gain a lot in the final result. Highly recommended.

Excellent sound quality. Great modern jazz. My vinyl copy came with the cd as well.

Tele neck pickups.
Great sounding pickups with good output. Simple wiring for phase in out option if required.
