It's a bloody gasket
Wonderful piece of gasket paper, with three holes. One large enough to cover the brake master cylinder, the other two for the mounting bolts. It's a brown plasticized cellulose product, remarkable impervious to oils, fuels and general solvents. Not overly robust it is strong enough to seal the thin gap between the brake booster and the hydraulic component. Looking edge on it's wonderfully narrow and can hardly be seen.

Essential Tool for Cam Belt Change
1 of 1 found this helpful If you have one of the latest diesel engines the only way to identify TDC and correct cam position is by using this type of locking tool.
There is a one problem with this particular crank locking tool in that the index mark is not in the correct location, so I would suggest not using it and applying tipp-ex or marker to guide you instead.
