unless your are capable of converting it to run off a seperate power supply don't think this is for you
this dvd read/write draws over 2 amps of current with a single usb cable maximum current on a usb 2 is 500mA & USB 3 is 900mA you will find your computers usb power supply will over heat and continually switch to overload switching it on and off these need to have a separate power supply of 5v with a 3 amp supply for it to work properly
