Great Addition!
The soundBar is a great simple addition to the screen - easy to attach and clears cluttered desk space. Having the Power/Volume control at the bottom of the monitor (or the side, if you prefer portrait mode) is a real advantage.
Sound quality as good as regular speakers. We bought two, one for each new computer, and we've had them a month now in daily use.
Good friendly supplier as well - thanks!

Civilisation DVD
This should be compulsory watching for anyone with an interest in western art / culture - as relevant today as when made in the late 1960s.
Kenneth Clarke is 'Mr Urbane', completely erudite in an accessible way and always thought provoking.
The only critism I've ever heard against this series is that it doesn't cover world civilisations - the Western /Classical arts are the ones in his view. Remember, this is what the title states - a personal view, in those days, we were not as aware of the interlinking and debt of western culture to other cultures. I would add myself that the emcompassing wealth of detail in this series is awe inspiring.
This is a series to treasure, revisit and reflect on; if nothing else it provides a time frame to artistic development through the ages. It is my all time favourite DVD: positive, enlightening and a tribute to the genius of humankind, albeit principally of the Western world.
What we need now, and are beginning to get in series such as 'The Barbarians', and other series on world cultures, are the interlinking pieces that provide more background to this series.
It's sad that such an expensive series could not be made now - the breadth and depth of the subject matter would put it beyond the scope of any budget. Thank goodness the commissioner Attenborough had it made on excellent quality filmstock by the best of technicians.
Please, if you've an interest in The Arts, rent or buy this DVD.
