An absorbing story beautifully written.
This is a beautiful and compelling book about an orphaned Red Indian boy taken in by his grandparents, who are committed to a life respectful of all living creatures -taking from nature only what they need to live. This way of life becomes Little Tree's education. The gentle instruction from his grandparents is contrasted sharply with Little Tree's contact with the outside world and his enforced move to an ophanage.
Seemingly simply written, it's told with humour and without rancour from a child's perspective. I can't recommend this book enough.
