Love at First Sight
Do I like it? Ebay asks me, Do I like it?
Well, let me put it this way. In the last two weeks I have listened to twelve complete sets of the Brahms symphonies, and I didn't hear a single set that I didn't like. But this is one of the top three. The fourth symphony in and of itself must be #1 out of all twelve.
So do I like it? We just met, but it is love at first sight.

The Updated Companion
Douglas Pratt was "MISTER LASERDISC" back in the day. His newsletter arrived each month with reviews of new releases and information about upcoming titles. For nearly twenty years I read his issues as they came out, and bought the first edition of his Companion volume. All of those items got lost in my last move, the "Great Destruction of 2018." So I am very happy to get my hands on this second edition of the Companion.

To the Sound!
I have the same program on video, on Blu-ray. It is nice to watch, but sometimes you just want to listen. The SACD sound is superlative.
