Gets the job done well, but not excellent
1 of 2 found this helpful For the past couple of weeks I have used this turntable to import all the vinyls that my dad had when he was younger. This USB turntable is more than I could have asked for. Without it, I would have had to purchase all of these albums on iTunes or Amazon. As expected, I do hear some pops and crackles when playing/recording the vinyl, but I don't mind them, since they make playback seem special and more authentic. As the manual for the USB turntable recommends, I use Audacity to record and edit the recording for the vinyl. The pops and crackles can be made less noticeable by applying a noise reduction effect. It is a little bit difficult to learn how to name separate tracks from the recording, and I wish I knew of an easier way to automatically label them, so I listen to the YouTube version of a song and compare it to the song in the recording to manually label the beginning of each track. However, I do notice that the vinyl recording lacks bass. I cannot tell whether this is a defect in the turntable or if this is meant to be the case for a turntable of this price, but it's not a big deal because I can always increase the bass in Audacity. I recommend this turntable for anyone who is eager to import their vinyls.
