Needs analog audio out?
2 of 2 found this helpful I got this as a simple home system receiver to handle multiple HDMI sources. As others have mentioned, this is a very good value for its price with basic features for home theater.
My only complaint is a lack of any RCA stereo output, like a "TAPE OUT". I had been using my Vizio tv stereo out to feed Sennheiser wireless headsets for a hard-of-hearing relative. I could kill my room sound and listen wirelessly. Now, there is no audio going from the Marantz to the tv via HDMI (except in bypass mode), so there is no feed to the Sennheisers. I could use the "PRE OUT", but it is volume dependent. When the volume is lowered, the "PRE OUT" feed also lowers. (This is confirmed by Marantz tech support.)
At a low room level, the feed to the Sennheisers is too low to be recognized and the wireless shuts down. There are inexpensive line amp/pre amp boosters, usually marketed to boost an iphone/ipad to a higher line level, and this fixed my issue.
I highly recommend this receiver. Just research any uses like I described.

Excellent value, great product
1 of 1 found this helpful This basic modem is always deservedly rated very highly. For the price, it's a top performer. With the increased speeds offered by Time Warner, I needed to upgrade from my older model Surfboard. I waited a long time for a "promised" black retail version (from another site), gave up and bought a used white one (also from that same other site), which didn't work properly, and had to return it. Ebay advertised a used black model (originally designed for cable company rental plans) at a lower price than my original purchase. It was delivered promptly and has performed flawlessly.
