Fantastic free alternative to Sky - just buy it!
If you are planning to sack Sky and move to a 'free' something else, this is it. The operating system is wasy to use and fast. If anything this is better than Sky. Picture is amazingly clear and pin sharp. One big advantage is that you go backwards a week on the Guide. Some programs can be watched using this system but at least you can see what you have missed.
Pros:
HD channels are great quality and the audio quality is good too.
Very easy to set up.
Recording set up is dead simple and intuitive.
Free to use - no expensive contracts.
Use in combination with a Chromecast/Roku stick or Fire stick and you have it all.
Cons:
Hard drives can be flaky but are dead simple to replace for £20 or so.
Sometimes initial setup can be tricky - solution - just let system os update to latest version.

These are the best Lavalier mics you can get without spending ten times as much!
This mic is simply fantastic value. The leads are ridiculously long actually which sometimes makes it awkward to use sometimes but I would rather have that problem than ones too short. Plug it into your DSLR and just press record. It works brilliantly! Crystal clear spoken audio but with little background. I made a short video in Barcelona outside the Sagrada Familia using my nine year old daughter for a school project. She spoke quietly as she was intimidated by hundreds of people around her staring. Her audio was clear and I had no trouble using the footage. That is all you really want and it delivers. I have several and have yet to replace the battery. No brainer - just buy it.
