Option strategies
1 of 1 found this helpful I believe this book was published @ 2006. The author worked in the commodities business as a market maker. He outlines 4 basic options strategies with an extra bonus one in very easy reading. Since he dealt mainly with futures in his working life, many of the examples (not all by any means) are tailored to this vehicle, but are applicable to stock options also. The author does offer insight into the tremendous leverage of the futures markets. This book was well worth the minimal price I paid for it (used). You won't be disappointed! You will be able to apply these practical strategies to stock applications!

Eric Burdon, blues band
I always thought of Eric Burdon in terms of 60's blues-rock. In this dvd eric sings 9 blues based songs in concert on Ventura beach, CA. Rather than blues-rock, Eric I think has evolved into strong authentic blues style. If you closed your eyes you would think it was an authentic blues singer from the old South. The dvd cover touts guitarist Robbie Krieger (Doors?), but all of the musicians were top-notch, from the saxaphonist to the keyboard player to the drummer to the conga player, to the rhythm guitarist. I believe most of the band members are German as they all wore long pants even on the hot beach.
As good as the band is in the blues idiom, the crowd was relatively small and consisted of beach goers, and they didn't seem very enthused. Probably they would have appreciated a band that was more strongly rock oriented.

Digitech RP355 Guitar Processor - Great for practice sessions!

Bought for $200 USD on Ebay
Was looking for something I could use for home guitar practice sessions with drum machine, looper, tone effects, and not too expensive, and not too complicated to use. This fits the bill. If you are starting out, you don't even need an amp, as headphones can be used. Has tuning function and expession pedal (defaults mainly to a volume pedal for the presets, but other parameters can be assigned). I personally like the Digitech presets. The looper is adequate and easy to use. Digitech continues to use their matrix display found in other Digitech products, which looks complex at first, but is rather simple. Software can be downloaded for visually editing presets on your computer (This I really liked and found to be fast and efficent). I haven't used the Cubase software computer recording application yet.
A few comments as to shortcomings - Looper would be better with longer than 20 sec duration. The drum machine function can not be used with the looper! No vocal outputs with this unit, although I did not buy it for this function.
Conclusion - You would be hard pressed to find another guitar processor with drum, looper, and preset functions at a comparable price. I like it a lot and may buy another for backup purposes!
