Sony 600w amp aftermarket head unit

Bought 4 of these to install in my sequoia. Using jensen head unit and sony 600w 4 channel amp I can't be more displeased. They are hooked up correctly (I'm an ASE master tech) but sound like trash. I understand they are midrange but even the tiniest amount of bass causes distortion. I have the bass all the way down and bringing the volume up distorts the speakers. Garbage.
