Epiphone DR-100 Dreadought, Natural

Great starter guitar or backup axe!
I purchased this as a backup to my more expensive Washburn performance acoustics. I've played for 20 plus years and am astounded at the tone, build quality and setup. Plays well right out of the box. Compensated saddle is a plus, as well as the strap button on the neck heel and bottom so no need to tie off with cord at the top of the neck. Rich, full bodied sound with better than average stock strings. This is rapidly becoming my go to guitar for general use and performance.

NEW AXL PG-801 ACOUSTIC GUITAR PIEZO TRANSDUCER PICKUP w/ ENDPIN JACK

Quick, easy way to electrify
This is the second one of these I've installed in an acoustic guitar. Works great, inexpensive, I just add a tiny dab of gel super glue in the center of the adhesive square and it stays on fine. Sound is true, plenty of output for an amp. End pin jack works fine and makes for as little alteration of the instrument as possible. Perfect solution if you want to electrify an acoustic guitar on the cheap. Not needing a battery to run a onboard preamp is an extra perk. I use an eq pedal if I need equalization. Very satisfied with the results, ease of installation and price!
Dean Vendetta XM Electric Guitar - Natural BLEM *B0271

Excellent entry level guitar!
The Vendetta XM offers a no-frills instrument that has everything you need and nothing you don't. Lightweight body, due to the Paulownia wood construction. The stock humbucker pickups put out plenty of signal for an entry level to intermediate player. The only reason I could see changing them out for, is if you're in search of a particular tone. The tune-o-matic style bridge makes for easy action and intonation setup, should you find it necessary. Mine came set up well right out of the box, but you may find it necessary to vary the factory setup to suit your tastes or compensate for a factory setup that's either too high or too low for your tastes. Through the body string anchoring make for a noticeable increase in sustain and tone transmission to the body for resonance. Single volume and tone controls will not please a guitarist that wants meticulous control over what each pickup puts out, but for someone that wants less controls to adjust while playing, such a setup keeps things simple, a plus for me on stage. It's no big deal for me to "tweak" a tiny bit on the fly if switching from lead to rhythm pickup, as opposed to adjusting four controls like one would with a Les Paul style. Twenty-four frets at this price point is virtually unheard of, and the neck profile is thin and fast. If you have a choice between this and, say a comparably priced Squier and your playing leans more toward hard rock or heavy metal, the Vendetta will probably be the better option for you.
