I was subsequently surprised to find that the seller s condition statement that this player was new and has never been used to be incorrect in that the player had been configured to non-default user settings as selected by a previous user. However it does appear to be in as new cosmetic condition and also in good working order order and as such I will probably keep it. All other purchase aspects ok.

Computer monitor works fine
The ad shows this device using a computer monitor as an output device. I connected it to my Samsung Syncmaster B1940W and am finally able to watch high quality DVDs. I don't own a TV and this means I don't have to buy one either. A direct connection with a HDMI to DVI-D cable just wouldn't work.
