I wanted familiarity and that's what I got
0 of 1 found this helpful I got this model as a replacement for my DMR-EX75 which suddenly stopped working after a power cut. Most newer models didn't appear to have the ability to connect a Sky+ or TiVo box, although it's quite possible I've misunderstood the connectivity of newer devices, but this model is so similar to my previous one there is no learning curve.
I have been a little surprised to discover some limitations in high speed copy, and don't seem to be able to do exactly what I did with the previous model. This one seems very particular in the type of recordable DVD's you choose, what aspect ratio is in play when a program is recorded (still trying to find out where those settings are) and what speed.
All things considered, I'm happy with the purchase, I can connect, record and archive what I want to ... it does what it says on the tin!
