many angles of the american civil war
an interesting way to see the history of the civil war and the opinions of both sides in the conflict. Slightly different from the book but a treat with the filming of the country-side. The characters give a broad sweep of the feelings of people at the time with some romance thrown in.

a real spectacle
As good as any retelling of the Queen's story as history is written by the winners so we will never know all the tale. Pity the film left out Cleopatra's twins by Mark Antony, at least one of whom survived. Also why do so many films that cover several years make the adults age but not the children. Her son by Caesar was an adult by their standards yet is portrayed as a child.
The quality of the film on DVDis excellent
