LEDware LED Desk Lamp 5W (200 lm) Cool White Dimmable [White]
03 Jul, 2016
Adjustable Light in a Sleek, Stylish Package
I bought this lamp for delicate electronics work (my eyes aren't what they used to be, unfortunately) and am very pleased with it. The LEDs are crisp and angled for good spread, there are three power settings for when you don't require the full output and because they're LEDs, prolonged usage doesn't result in a lot of excess heat. The build quality of this product is very good - the base is weighty and sturdy, the gooseneck holds position well and is coated in textured rubber for grip, and while I'm not personally a fan of touch-activated switching, this one's fine. Note that you must press on the circle exactly - that defines the border of the switch. This can require a bit of a blind fumble at night if you elect to use this as a reading lamp (which is a role it would fulfill exceptionally well) but that's being pedantic. The one drawback is the shorter plugpack lead - probably not an issue for 99.5% of people who are going to buy this product, but if you're using it at a workstation it can be a tight fit. It's a relatively normal 24V, 0.5A DC supply, so swapping it out isn't a huge deal if you need to. All in all a solid product, and top value for the price. 10/10
Vinsic 28000mAh Dual USB QC 3.0 Quick Charge Mobile Charger Portable Power Bank

Huge Capacity, Solid Design
I hunted for a better-than-bottom quality large battery pack for a long time. I settled on the Vinsic as it had three Type A outputs, and QuickCharge 3.0 support on one port as a bonus. After a solid eighteen months in service, I'm happy to report this is a great solution. Do note that the mAh rating for these power packs is given at 3.7V output, while devices you charge may take from 5 to 9V - so you won't get exactly 28000mAh worth of translated 'charge' out of the pack - this is not the way battery packs like these work. It is good for four whole charges of a Galaxy Note 9 (4000mAH rated) before you run it down into single-digits in my experience. There's a handy LED display for battery percentage, and a simple on/off/start/stop button on the side for operation. A nice textured portion of the case means it won't slip around on a surface. It is hefty, which you'd expect (and is welcome to note) with almost 30Ah of battery onboard - reassuring for capacity statements. Overall you could do a lot worse than this pack. it's not got the Type C outputs or inputs or anything fancy, it just does it's job as advertised.
SanDisk 16GB micro SD Ultra microSDHC 48MB/s Class 10 16G TF Mobile Memory Card

Solid, Everyday Memory Card
48MB/sec? Not on your life. Perfectly acceptable sequential performance, and better-than-baseline random performance? You betcha. I'm usually a proponent for the cheapest microSD card you can find at your chosen capacity, but the SanDisk Ultra one is worth the three or so bucks more. Solid cards.
