Fuji FinePix 6900 Digital Camera
3 of 3 found this helpful This is my first digital camera, and I wanted something with more scope for developing my photography skills than the typical point and shoot type, but without costing a fortune. Although this model is now technically obsolete, it was the top of Fuji's range of consumer cameras when released (2001 I believe). It offers the option of operating in fully automatic, several semi automatic and manual modes, giving the user as much control as they require to suit their technical skill level. The image quality, and especially the colour rendition, is very good and in my opinion rivals much of the current digital cameras costing far more. The downside is the battery life is pretty terrible by modern standards (30 mins or so), and the smartmedia memory cards are now obsolete and only available in relatively small sizes - 128mB being the largest, which gives only 7 uncompressed pics (17,720kB)at 6m, a more reasonable 53 at 'fine' (2400kB)and 102 at 3m (1300kB)- which still yields very good images for most applications. For my needs(indoor shots, with a spare battery on hand - an adaptor would have been nice - and regular uploading to computer)this camera is fine, but it may not suit other applications.
