Has trouble Playing Games

Has trouble Playing games , games that my phone breeze's thru , CANNOT for the life of me find an Android OS Update , IT will not check over the WiFi .. wants to check over air .. But I do not have a SIM card that will fit it Disappointed in its performance , you'd figure the 8 core cpu and the extra ram would help ..
