Brilliant results on very dark hair
8 of 8 found this helpful I have hair below my shoulders. Mixed Caribbean and European hair. Very dark ash brown (almost black) and the bottom half had been bleached previously and died dark blue. My hair is thick, naturally frizzy, in pretty good condition although it's naturally dry so I often have to use a good moisturiser conditioner. I had put coconut oil on my hair the day before I used this bleach as I thought I might have to leave the bleach on for longer then recommended and apply heat in order to get my dark hair past that brassy yellow stage. HOWEVER I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO EITHER OF THOSE THINGS. I had brought 3 packets as so many customers complained of running out, however I was almost able to do all my hair with just 1 pack. I used the second pack to slather it on really thick just to make sure I had even coverage. (So now I have a spare pack that will do 2 lots of roots as the powder comes in 2 sachets and the developer is in a closable bottle)
When I mixed the power and liquid i didn't have any problem with clumping like some people had complained. I put in the developer a little at a time mixing as I went. (Also used my own bowl as the one they give u is a bit small and has corners which I think makes stirring a little harder). The mixture did thicken over time so I was sure to use it as soon as it was mixed. (But I could have always water it down with conditioner if i need to). But it was still useable 20mins later when I was finishing - just a lot more like a moose. Once I had covered my hair (did the roots last as they always take quicker) I put a plastic shower cap on my head and wrapped in a towel to keep the heat in (but I didn't add any extra heat - although if I had fragile or light hair i probably wouldn't have wrapped my hair) The box says 20-90 mins. I was expecting to need the full 90 and to whack a hairdryer on it for the last 10mins (which is very bad for my hair) - but when I checked after 50 mins it was almost there and by 60 mins I had it rinsed out. My hair wasn't at all dry or weakened or that matted tangle that i sometimes get. (Although the coconut oil may have helped a bit there) BUT the colour was amazing: it was almost platinum white with only a hint of pale yellow in the mid lengths. The ends that had been dark blue were white with a hint of grey. If I had a toner I would haven been tempted just to keep the platinum blond!! That's how good it was. But I had emerald green to put on (also by Crazy Color - I used 2 bottles of that). And the emerald green took brilliantly on top with even cover, even over where the white had been different tints. I did finish with a long condition with Aussie Moisturiser Conditioner. Then I towel dried and used straighteners to straighten my hair. So now in 1 go, I have gone from very dark down with electric blue ends, to a brilliant vivid emerald green and it cost me about £20 altogether. And my hair is smooth, silky and shiny and a brilliant strong colour. So the 2 things I took away from this - I will always use coconut oil (this was the first time I tried it and it definitely helps) and - for great quality at a really good price I am sticking with Crazy Color 👍🏻😄
