As good if not better than "premium" types
When I opened the packet the first things I noticed were how thin it is and how small the end connectors are. This would put a lot of people off as it doesn't look to be "good" quality. To me this is an advantage. The small connectors are easier to thread through tight gaps and also easier to fit at the back of a wall mounted TV without having to add extra spacers as I've often had to do in the past (I use optical leads a lot in my job). Don't be fooled by so called premium products that have gold plated connectors and are as thick as your little finger. These things carry light, not electrical current, so gold plating is just a marketing gimmick to extract more of your hard earned cash. The extra width is for impact protection and is often little more than a covering of woven plastic fibres that don't offer much protection. It doesn't matter if you buy one of these bargain leads or a much more expensive one; if you hit it too hard or bend it too tight you will damage the fibre that does the work. As long as the fibre is decent quality and has no damage, it will do its job. This one does it admirably. One thing I forgot to mention is that both connectors clicked into place nice and firmly. I'm very happy with my bargain basement purchase and will be buying more.
