Two out of three....
Witness without a doubt is the most "must have" movie of this compilation. I am not a massive Harrison Ford fan, but as John Book we find him at his best. That said, it's Jan Rubes as Eli Lapp, an Amish farmer, who steals the show. Look out for a young Viggo Mortensen and Danny Glover as the bad guy! The barnstorming scene is a classic piece of cinema and the curious choice of synth music for the soundtrack somehow works too. A really great movie.
Clear and Present Danger is in my opinion the best of the Baldwin / Ford Jack Ryan Trilogy. It has the least over-acting! A cracking good thriller and a good bonus ball if you're buying this set for Witness (or the other way around even!). C&PD has been seen by just about everyone so no need to elaborate further...
K19 is a historical thriller which had the potential to be a great movie (Google K19 for a Wikipedia page). But it's sloppily done. Watchable and by no means terrible, but easily the weak link in this box set.

Something different please....
I wanted a desert island card, preferably blank. Why? Because of a conversation with a friend about the one thing to take to a desert island (my choice was a flare).
As it was her birthday not long afterwards I thought this card would be appropriate. It's abstract but then so was our conversation!
PS I do struggle to find great cards on the high street that are not "run of the mill" or "pre-worded". I absolutely loath banks of categorised cards (Birthday, Father's Day, Congratulations and so on) where there are usually no blank cards to speak of, let alone interesting ones. Indoor markets for hand made cards and the internet shops do at least offer a few good value choices. One savvy store holder at my local market makes simple but nice hand made cards and offers (for free I think) an assortment of stick-in greetings for those who don't want to write their own. I think she has nailed it!

Classic calculator good for most uses at home/school/university/office.
Excellent scientific calculator suitable for most calculations up to A level mathematics and for under graduates not specialising in mathematics. Also very easy to use so ought to be welcome in most households as a simple "every day" tool for the desk/briefcase/satchel(as opposed to being ultra portable, which it isn't). Keyboard is tactile and responsive. Graphics clear and well organised. A solid and cheap all rounder, readily available second hand and at bargain prices.
