Susan is a survivor and one strong woman, who began anew a little later in life, and made her own way!
I was inspired by Martha's Vineyard, Isle of Dreams, the latest of Susan Branch's books. Yes, it's beautiful and the illustrations are divine, as usual, but what sets this book high above is the story line of how she left all that was familiar behind after a heart wrenching divorce and began a new life in a place she'd only visited once. She had advantages and help from her former spouse that some woman never see, but she triumphed over inevitable loneliness and depression that heartbreak brings, and began a new very successful life all on her own as an artist, cook and author! As a woman of the same vintage and ilk, I was very inspired by her brave heart and self discovery. Hurrah, Susan!!

Visit Britain with Susan!
It's like being there, without the hassles of traveling. The illustrations are wonderful (as always) and it's just a fun. fun adventure. I purchased 5 and gave them as gifts - even my British friend loved seeing her country with Susan's eyes!
