Affordable Entry to Backyard Greenhouses
An affordable entry to small scale, backyard greenhouses. This is the next size up in OGrow's line of mini-greenhouses. I started with the smaller ones. The larger size is easier to stabilize for temperature and humidity. San Diego presents some challenges. I fabricated a 50% shade cover and added two 12V solar panels from Harbor Freight to power a 120mm computer fan that I placed above the entrance. This enables me to keep the greenhouse under 105 degrees on hotter summer days. Otherwise, I leave the 'door' open.
The real benefit will come in the Fall and Winter (ie. San Diego Winter) when I'll still be growing...
Sturdy construction considering. Mine is in an area protected from wind, so I can't comment on that. I love having the extra room to stand around and get that greenhouse vibe. Really wets my appetite to go big with their next size up.
